According to many, the Metaverse is just another attempt by technology companies to create the next big thing. Smartphones are now in the hands of six out of ten people on the planet, and the technology is well-established. Open-world games and other hot topics like augmented reality (AR), virtual reality (VR), blockchain, and other such buzzwords are still in the early stages of development. A good time for Mark Zuckerberg and others to use the term “Metaverse” frequently and hope for something to happen.
